Ronda Rousey Heaps Praise On Former WWE Rival

Ronda Rousey WWE

Ronda Rousey had admitted she had no idea what she was doing ahead of a huge title match.

After officially signing with WWE in late 2017, Ronda Rousey wasted little time in establishing herself as one of the faces of the company. The former UFC star made a surprise appearance at the 2018 Royal Rumble to kick off her run, and she entered the same event a year later carrying the Raw Women’s Title.

At the event, Rousey took on and defeated Mercedes Mone, then known as Sasha Banks.

During an appearance on the Ring the Belle podcast, Rousey looked back on the match, admitting she told Mone to plan the action as she had no idea what she was doing.

“I basically told her: ‘I don’t know what I’m doing, you make this match! I’ll do whatever you want!’ I flew out to meet her in New York, with her friend, Red…

So, I put all that trust into her, and it was like ‘you make the match and I will do it.'”

Ronda Rousey Hints At WWE Return

Meanwhile, during a recent gaming stream, Ronda Rousey hinted for the first time that she could return to WWE. While confirming she wouldn’t consider returning full-time, a reunion with Shayna Baszler isn’t out of the question.

Rousey hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Baszler at SummerSlam 2023. The former Women’s Champion had previously ruled out ever returning to WWE, branding the company a “sh*t show.”

Ronda Rousey revealed in July 2024 that she is pregnant with her second child with ex-MMA fighter Travis Browne. Rousey and Browne’s first child together, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō, was born during Rousey’s hiatus from WWE in 2021.
