Ronda Rousey Has “No Interest” In Fighting Again

Ronda Rousey

Don’t expect to see Ronda Rousey inside the squared circle or the octagon in the near future.

Following Rousey’s sudden departure from WWE shortly after SummerSlam, it was unknown whether the former Women’s Champion would be making a return to the company or planning on a return to the UFC. According to a new report, the answer is in fact neither.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the immediate plans for Rousey are for her to have another child and there are no immediate plans for an appearance in either pro wrestling or mixed martial arts. The report concludes with a conclusive statement on Rousey’s combat career “The belief is that she has no interest in fighting ever again.”

The sudden announcement of the departure was also why the partnership and subsequent feud with Shayna Baszler was rushed and played out over a short amount of time.

The report from the Observer also corroborates Dana White shutting down rumours of a Rousey return at UFC 300 that was first reported by The Daily Mail.

Ronda Rousey Made History In WWE

One of the most famous names in MMA, Ronda Rousey made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 following a cameo appearance 3 years prior alongside The Rock. Winning her debut match in WWE, Rousey would remain undefeated until her historic match one year later. The all-women’s main event of Mania saw Becky Lynch defeat both Rousey and Charlotte Flair to become Becky Two Belts in the winner-take-all match.

Hall of Famer Mick Foley wrote a Facebook post praising Rousey following the exit. Foley claimed that the historic main event would not have been possible without Rousey being in the company.
