Ronda Rousey Critical Of “Ridiculous” Match With WWE Star

Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey didn’t think much of one WWE opponent.

After becoming the most famous woman in MMA history as she broke new ground in the UFC, Ronda Rousey made a brief cameo at WrestleMania 31 after attending SummerSlam 2014.

In late 2017, Rousey officially signed with WWE, confirming her switch from MMA. She then made an appearance at the end of the 2018 Royal Rumble before competing in her first match at WrestleMania 34.

Over the following months, Rousey was integrated more into the women’s division and eventually beat Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

In a new interview with The Lapsed Fan podcast, Rousey looked back at her WWE career, and she was none-too-impressed with her match against Bliss. The star said that it was “ridiculous” that she faced Bliss because her rival had high merchandise sales.

“The fact that they had me fighting Alexa Bliss at all was f*cking ridiculous. And you want to know why they had me against Alexa Bliss? Because she had the most merch sales at the time, on that side. Like, what the f*ck? Like, that’s your decision-making process?”

Ronda Rousey Brands Vince McMahon A “Pervert”

In the same wide-ranging interview, Ronda Rousey called Vince McMahon a “pervert” while explaining why she didn’t like working for the disgraced former WWE boss. The former champion said that WWE was a “sh*tshow” during McMahon’s tenure due to his constant changes to creative.

By contrast, she said that working for Dana White in UFC was much more straightforward.

Ronda Rousey later admitted that a wrestling comeback is unlikely as she’s moved on to a new chapter of her life.
