Ronda Rousey Arrested On SmackDown

Ronda Rousey dumps bag of cash

It was a rough night for former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey on Friday when she was arrested after showing up once again on the blue brand.

Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan went one on one back at SummerSlam with Morgan’s SmackDown Women’s Title on the line. Morgan escaped with her title but in very dubious circumstances. Ronda Rousey had locked her armbar in on Morgan but as the former UFC star was fighting from underneath, her shoulders were simultaneously pinned to the mat. With the referee focussed on Rousey’s shoulders, he missed Morgan tapping out on the two-count and counted Rousey’s shoulders down.

An incensed Ronda Rousey snapped, first attacking Liv Morgan and then attacking the referee, locking him in the armbar as other officials tried to intervene.

As part of that storyline, WWE has now announced that Ronda Rousey has been fined and suspended by the company. During Liv Morgan and Shayna Baszler’s contract signing for their title match at Clash at the Castle, Rousey made her presence felt, dumping out a bag of cash, doubling the amount she had been fined.

On Friday in Montreal, Ronda Rousey once again showed up on SmackDown demanding to have her suspension lifted. WWE official Adam Pearce instead sent security to remove The Baddest Woman On The Planet and that had predictable results with Rousey taking out the security. Pearce then sent police out to the ring to arrest Rousey and have her removed from the building.

This is not the first time Ronda Rousey has been carted off by police on WWE television. Rousey and Becky Lynch were both taken away by police during a huge brawl with Charlotte Flair in the lead-up to the main event of WrestleMania 35.
