There are some details surrounding the Ring of Honor debut of Ronda Rousey.

During her five-year run as part of WWE, Ronda Rousey accomplished a lot as a Raw & Smackdown Women’s Champion who also headlined WrestleMania and won the Royal Rumble.

At SummerSlam 2023, Ronda Rousey lost a match to her good friend Shayna Baszler, who won in dominant fashion. Rousey’s WWE contract expired soon after that, which led to the UFC Hall of Famer becoming a free agent.

Since then, Rousey has appeared at some REVOLVER independent shows in California where she lives due to wanting to work with her friend Marina Shafir.

Ronda Rousey made headlines again when she appeared at AEW’s Collision & Rampage taping which also included a Ring of Honor taping in Los Angeles. Rousey appeared only on the ROH show.

The ROH brand is owned by AEW’s Tony Khan, which has led to some speculation that perhaps she has some sort of deal with AEW, which would obviously be big news for AEW due to Rousey’s star power.

Is Ronda Rousey Signed To An AEW/ROH Deal?

At the ROH tapings, Rousey teamed with her best friend Marina Shafir against Athena and Bilie Starkz. It has been reported by Fightful Select that Rousey has not signed with AEW/ROH.

The report from Fightful notes that Rousey is on a handshake deal with AEW. Rousey’s bookings with ROH, REVOLVER and Lucha Vavoom have taken place because she wanted to work with Shafir, who is under contract to AEW.

On another Rousey note, Fightful reported that Rousey was never considered to be AEW’s signing that will be announced at Full Gear.

If you want to check out Rousey’s ROH appearance, the ROH weekly show airs on Honor Club on Thursdays on the ROH website.
