Roman Reigns’ WWE Title Feud Forced Star To Rebuild
One WWE star thinks being forced to feud with Roman Reigns during his historic WWE Title reign actually set their career back.
For almost four years, Roman Reigns ruled over WWE seeing off challenges from the likes of Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Finn Balor, Logan Paul, LA Knight, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena before Cody Rhodes finished his story and defeated Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
But for one of those stars, their brush with Roman Reigns left them with a rebuild job.
Roman Reigns Feud Set Back LA Knight
Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, LA Knight was asked how he felt his progress in WWE was affected by the Roman Reigns feud and the current US Champion admits it set him back:
I think it did a little bit of all that. It took me in a few different directions. I think it optically in a way elevated me and I think optically in a way it kind of set me back a little bit and I had to do a little bit of a rebuild back in the winter and the springtime of last year.
I think that’s just by virtue of the way that it was all set up and the way it was done, but ultimately Crown Jewel was a nice pay-off, so that was pretty good.
LA Knight challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel 2023. Reigns retained his title and although Knight was part of a fatal four-way at the 2024 Royal Rumble for the gold as well, by the time WrestleMania 40 came around LA Knight was only part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown before the main show itself.
