Roman Reigns Set For WWE Absence After Raw Assault

Roman Reigns was the victim of a vicious attack once again on WWE Raw, which could mean the OTC is set for another absence from the company.

At SummerSlam, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso picked up a huge win over Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Uso pinned Reed after a huge Uso Splash with Reigns protecting his cousin from a huge spear to keep him in the match.

That win came days after Uso and Reigns had been viciously assaulted by Breakker and Reed on Raw, with Reed stealing The OTC’s shoes. Reed wore them around his neck at SummerSlam, dubbing them the “Shoe-la Fala.”

While Reed and Breakker’s loss might have thrown a spanner in the works, the group was back on top by the end of SummerSlam as Seth Rollins cashed in Money In The Bank to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Roman Reigns Laid Out On WWE Raw

On the August 4th edition of Raw, Rollins was forced to put that title on the line in the main event against LA Knight. That match ended in a disqualification when all hell broke loose once again. Roman Reigns made his presence felt to try and stop Rollins, Breakker, and Reed, but suffered a Stomp from Rollins to lay him out. A spear by Breakker followed before Reed hit three Tsunamis on Reigns.

And it seems the intensity of the assault could have been to write Reigns off TV for the foreseeable future.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Reigns is soon set to be filming a movie with a few other wrestling stars:

Roman’s gonna be out filming a movie, so I think that was an injury angle to take him out for a couple of weeks. Him and Cody and Hirooki Goto are filming that Street Fighter movie pretty soon, pretty imminently.
