What WWE Has Planned For Roman Reigns At SummerSlam
Roman Reigns is back in WWE on the Raw brand and is likely going to have a huge match at SummerSlam.
Following a three-month absence, Roman Reigns made his triumphant return at the end of WWE Monday Night Raw after CM Punk beat Bron Breakker in a Gauntlet Match.
The “Tribal Chief” Reigns made his return wearing an “OTC1” shirt as he decimated the duo of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. It was payback for the group because on the Raw after WrestleMania, Seth Rollins was joined by Breakker as they attacked Reigns and Punk. It was the start of the new Seth Rollins stable, which Reed joined several weeks later.
Since Seth Rollins is out of action with an injury, he wasn’t there to take a Spear from Reigns, but Breakker and Reed felt the wrath of The Tribal Chief.
After making his return, Reigns picked up his cousin Jey Uso and they embraced. Reigns didn’t pick up Punk, who was one of Roman’s opponents at WrestleMania 41, along with Rollins.
Roman Reigns Could Be In Singles Or Tag Team Match At SummerSlam
The first-ever two-night WWE SummerSlam event will take place on August 2nd and 3rd at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Roman Reigns could be in a singles match or a tag team match at SummerSlam, depending on what WWE wants to do.
“A proposed card for the show from nearly three weeks ago listed Reigns vs. Bron Breakker, the same match at [SummerSlam] (or a tag with Reigns & Jey Uso vs. Breakker & Bronson Reed) that they did the angle for on Raw. Uso and Reed were at one point earmarked for a singles match on that show.”
If WWE goes with Reigns against Breakker, then it would be a matchup of the two men who use the Spear as a finishing move, and some say that Breakker does it better than Reigns.
Roman Reigns is scheduled for the next two episodes of Raw on July 21st and July 28th, so his SummerSlam will likely be announced very soon.
Following this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown, the star-studded SummerSlam lineup looks like this:
