Roman Reigns Vows To “F*** Up” This WWE Star Any Chance He Gets
Roman Reigns has explained why there’s one WWE star that he’ll never pass up the opportunity to pull the trigger on.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finished his story and defeated Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a wild match. Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa, John Cena, The Rock, and The Undertaker all incredibly got involved in the action. But it was the presence of Seth Rollins wearing his old Shield uniform that proved decisive.
With Rollins and Rhodes both stumbling to get to their feet, Roman Reigns had a choice to make and ultimately, the shadows of Rollins’ betrayal in 2014 when he slammed a chair into Reigns’ back loomed large as Reigns returned the favour, allowing Cody Rhodes to recover and defeat him.
Many fans saw the parallels between the two moments ten years apart but was it really Roman Reigns and WWE’s intention to callback Seth Rollins’ treachery?
Roman Reigns Keeps Seth Rollins A Chair’s Length Away
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns was asked if his chair shot to Rollins was an intended callback to how Rollins had betrayed him in The Shield but for Reigns, his issue with Rollins is really quite simple:
Anytime I have a chance to f*** him up, I’m gonna take it. That’s how I feel about him. Anytime I have the chance to pull the trigger on him I’m going to. He’s a constant reminder and a lesson to myself of who to trust and how to trust and if you can’t, how to keep them. And that’s where I like to keep him – a chair’s length away.
Seth Rollins steadfastly refused to join Roman Reigns team for WarGames at Survivor Series and it became clear Reigns didn’t want him even if he did agree. Instead, CM Punk will be part of WarGames, teaming with Reigns, The Usos and Sami Zayn at the behest of Paul Heyman.
