Roman Reigns Recalls Legitimately Getting In Trouble With WWE Legend
Roman Reigns has explained the wild story that ended with a WWE Hall of Famer sitting him down and having a long, serious talk.
There’s no fight quite like fighting with your siblings, and when you come from one of the biggest wrestling families in history, that can often lead to run-ins with some legends of the ring.
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Roman Reigns told his version of events of a story Jimmy Uso made public that involved a gerbil, knives, and a long conversation with the frightening WWE Hall of Famer, Rikishi:
I had a little gerbil, ugly little thing, but that was my guy. All the little wood chips, he’s got the little playground, the wheel, and we bought him the little clear ball he could roll around in. My sister, I don’t know what we were doing but she just went and kicked it off. She did a full kick-off. Pat McAfee’d across the living room. Thank god the thing was sturdy, it didn’t break, but I was hot. Did he tell you about the retaliation, what I got in trouble for?
Rikishi Had To Talk To A Knife-Wielding Roman Reigns
Reigns continued, detailing the worrying attempt at revenge he aimed at his sister:
First of all, let me just say this, I was not gonna hurt her, she was already bigger than me, my sisters are six-footers, they’re tall women and strong women. And I don’t think I’d even hit puberty at this point. We had the state fair and I was terrified to ride the rides, I only liked to play the games and there was one particular game I really loved to play while my sister was on the stupid rides that get taken down every two weeks.
I would play the knife game, you were just ringing the knife. I’d play that all night, I was sinking them. It got to the point I’d come home with five knives a year so after a few years I had a collection going on.
She p*ssed me off so bad, I got those knives and I came out like a Ninja Turtle, then Junior found out. This was the first time he had to like talk to me. Junior being Rikishi, the twins’ dad, he was very intimidating for us back in the day. Junior had this look where we were just terrified. I remember one time we were trapped in a room because we didn’t wanna walk by him. Junior used to have us intimidated. He sat me down like “Joe, what’s going on? You pulled knives on your sister?” I’m like “She kicked my gerbil! It was in it’s ball! [laughs]. […] He was not cool with that and he shouldn’t have been.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Roman Reigns revealed the life-changing advice he received from ex-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
