Roman Reigns Runs Rampant At WWE Royal Rumble

Roman Reigns WWE

For the first time since winning the WWE Universal Championship, Roman Reigns faced three challengers at once but he’s not called The Tribal Chief for no reason.

Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship for the second time in his career on the 30th of August 2020 when he strolled into a triple threat match for the gold that also featured The Fiend Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman.

Over 1,245 days have followed as well as three WrestleManias but despite the best efforts of the likes of Jey Uso, Edge, Daniel Bryan, and Cody Rhodes among many others, Paul Heyman still holds the title belt for the man he calls his Tribal Chief.

At WrestleMania 38, Reigns solidified his status at the top of WWE when he unified his title with the WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar. Now heading into WrestleMania 40, it looks like Reigns will be in the main event yet again.

Roman Reigns Wins Big At Royal Rumble Yet Again

At the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns faced LA Knight, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles in a huge fatal four-way match for his title.

Randy Orton had Reigns pinned after dropping all three of his opponents with RKOs but Solo Sikoa appeared as usual to pull the referee out of the ring. Sikoa then spiked Orton and Knight before attempting to drive Styles through the ringside barrier but the phenomenal one moved at the last second.

Ultimately the chaos of so many opponents worked in the favour of the champion as Roman Reigns nailed Styles with a Spear to pick up the win.

As a result of his victory, it is almost certain that Roman Reigns will now main event his eighth WrestleMania main event and his fourth one in a row. Reigns has already achieved that feat earlier in his career between 2015 and 2018 and he will now solidify his status as one of WrestleMania’s top stars of all time. However, who Reigns will face in Philadelphia remains to be seen as rumours about an in-ring return for The Rock continue to swirl.
