Roman Reigns Praises Sami Zayn – “He’s So Talented”

Roman Reigns may sit at The Head Of The Table on Friday Night SmackDown, but the Universal Champion has heaped praise on a fellow blue brand WWE Superstar.

Reigns continued his domination of WWE at SummerSlam when he defeated 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena in the main event. In doing so Reigns has all but guaranteed the first year-long title reign in the history of the WWE Universal Championship.

The Tribal Chief may have got an unwelcome surprise in the form of Brock Lesnar confronting him after his victory but The Tribal Chief has built solid support that includes the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos, and Special Counsel – and seemingly former Brock Lesnar advocate – Paul Heyman.

Speaking to BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani, Roman Reigns reserved special praise for another star of Friday nights, the former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn:

“One guy, he… I don’t know how to get there without smacking the *** out of him but Sami Zayn is one of those guys that where you can’t… He’s like your neighbor, he doesn’t scream Superstar, WWE Superstar. But there’s something he has, like an intangible that you can’t stop looking at. Even in real life, you want to converse with him, you want to have a quick little conversation, he’ll pop you real quick, and then say, ‘Alright, I got a good laugh and now I’ll go about my business. See you later, Sami.’ He’s one of those guys that’s so talented that he, whatever it may be, just needs a little more. If you can get Sami Zayn on TV more, that’s a good thing.”

Zayn has spent most of 2021 standing across the ring from his perennial rival, Kevin Owens. The two men met at WrestleMania 37, Hell In A Cell, and in a Last Man Standing match to qualify for Money In The Bank. Sadly, Zayn was not a part of this year’s SummerSlam event.
