Roman Reigns’ Path To WWE WrestleMania Spoiler, Opponent Revealed

As one of the top wrestlers in WWE, Roman Reigns is expected to headline WrestleMania 42.

Survivor Series: WarGames saw the babyface team, comprising Reigns and Cody Rhodes, lose their cage match. However, what happened after the bout is what got the fans talking.

First, the Tribal Chief walked up to CM Punk, with whom he exchanged friendly words. His conversation with Rhodes, however, was anything but pleasant.

The long-standing rivals agreed they would never team up again, with Punk standing by to pacify any potential escalations.

If a Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes match is finalized for WrestleMania, it will mark their third consecutive main event appearance at the show.

Roman Reigns To Win Royal Rumble Before Headlining WrestleMania

As revealed on a recent Self Made Pro podcast, the decision to put Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes was a last-minute decision, with the former’s influential role playing a small hand in it.

So, on November 11th of this year, we were sitting on two possible scenarios for WrestleMania. Scenario one: Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker at Mania, and CM Punk vs. Cody. For the longest time, the plan was Punk vs. Cody, and Seth vs. Roman. That was locked in. Then the updated plan became Punk vs. Cody and Bron vs. Roman.

Although Reigns preferred another option.

There was another option that some people in WWE were into—and Roman himself liked—if it was on his terms: Punk vs. Bron Breakker, and Roman vs. Cody.

Reigns’ road to WrestleMania will start by winning the Royal Rumble as a babyface, after which he will defeat Cody Rhodes for the championship at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
