Roman Reigns On Verge Of WWE Return
Roman Reigns is back. Well, nearly.
Although WrestleMania has been the site of some of Roman Reigns’ biggest achievements, that’s all changed in the last two years.
At WrestleMania 40, Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in the main event, while a year later, he lost to Seth Rollins in a huge Triple Threat Match also featuring CM Punk. To make matters worse, his Wiseman, Paul Heyman, betrayed him in the process.
Following that latest defeat, Reigns disappeared from television, but his hiatus will soon be over.
Roman Reigns To End WWE Hiatus
According to a new report from Wrestle Votes, Reigns’ latest WWE exile will soon come to an end. It’s believed the star will be back on television in July, setting up a storyline heading into SummerSlam.
It seems that time of year again—Roman Reigns’ return is on the horizon. Sources indicate his name has popped up internally in recent weeks, typically signaling the wheels are in motion for a return heading into the biggest party of the summer.
On Wrestle Votes Radio, it was noted that there was talk of bringing back Reigns for Night of Champions on June 28 in Saudi Arabia. However, the decision was taken to delay his return until the lead-up to SummerSlam.
The star is expected to be a key part of the event, and alternate Tribal Chief monikers are being considered.
Reigns has come in for increasing criticism from fans in recent times due to his ever-lighter WWE schedule despite being one of the company’s biggest stars. The former World Champion has wrestled just 20 matches in the last two and a half years.
