Roman Reigns Sees No End In Sight For The Bloodline In WWE
If you thought Paul Heyman was joking when he discussed Roman Reigns’ storyline being in the third innings, then the OTC has some news for you.
At WrestleMania 39, the wrestling world was left stunned when Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes to continue his historic reign as Undisputed WWE Champion. At the time few believed there were any more stories left to tell for Reigns and The Bloodline which is why there was a lot of mocking when Paul Heyman noted at the time that they were only in the third innings.
And ever since then, Heyman has been proven to be absolutely right.
The Bloodline split up, saw Roman Reigns finally lose to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, and reunite as the group heads into WarGames to battle Solo Sikoa’s version of The Bloodline. And for Roman Reigns, it’s a story that could continue to run for years.
Roman Reigns Sees The Bloodline Saga Going On And On And…
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns admitted that at one point he felt WWE was stretching The Bloodline’s storyline to breaking point but now he can see it continuing for a long time yet:
People laughed at us a while back when I don’t know if it was me or Paul mentioned the baseball innings thing. There was maybe a year ago or so that we were stretching it, but we’re not at this point. It’s a whole new vision.
I forget where I was driving today but just kind of visualizing what it could be in the next two years, what could be in the next three years. Blocking these things off just a year chunk at a time.
Roman Reigns also explained why he believes his match with The Rock could still happen despite WWE fans pressurising the company to abandon that direction in favour of Reigns facing Rhodes for the second year in a row.
