Roman Reigns Takes On New Role During WWE Absence

Roman Reigns WWE Stare

Roman Reigns remains a busy man while taking a break from being a World Wrestling Entertainment superstar.

At WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Roman Reigns made history as the first person to headline nine WrestleManias, which surpasses the eight WrestleMania main events that Hulk Hogan had in his career.

It’s a tremendous accomplishment for the Tribal Chief, who headlined his first WrestleMania in 2015 and was credited with two main events this year due to the event taking place on Saturday and Sunday.

In the WrestleMania 40 Saturday main event, Reigns picked up a victory with The Rock over Cody Rhodes & Seth “Freakin” Rollins. However, the WrestleMania 40 Sunday night main event didn’t go smoothly for Reigns since Cody Rhodes beat him in a Bloodline Rules match to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. That win by Rhodes ended Reigns’ incredible 1,316-day reign as the WWE Universal Champion.

It has since been reported that Roman Reigns is currently on a WWE hiatus. While the Tribal Chief will likely be back in the ring at some point this year, it hasn’t been announced when that will be.

Roman Reigns Filming Movie While Away From WWE

As for what Roman Reigns is doing away from WWE, he’s flexing his acting muscles. Actress Keke Palmer was on Snapchat where she shared a photo featuring Roman Reigns on a movie set. Wrestling fans on social media have since discovered that Reigns is filming a movie called Good Fortune. The movie is a heist comedy that also stars Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen and Palmer.

Roman Reigns does have acting experience since he appeared in the Fast & Furious spinoff film Hobbs & Shaw in 2019 alongside The Rock.

The Tribal Chief turning to acting isn’t a surprise since it’s a similar path to what The Rock and John Cena have done when their WWE careers slowed down. Former WWE World Champion Dave Bautista (aka Batista) has also had a very successful acting career as well.
