First-Time-Ever Roman Reigns Match Could Be Booked For WWE SummerSlam

Roman Reigns WWE shocked

Roman Reigns could have a surprising opponent for WWE SummerSlam.

The Original Tribal Chief last wrestled at WrestleMania 41 when he lost a Triple Threat match that involved CM Punk and Seth Rollins. The 40-year-old’s defeat came after Paul Heyman betrayed him and The Second City Saint, helping The Visionary walk out victorious.

Reigns showed up the following Monday on RAW as he attempted to get revenge on his former Wiseman and ex-Shield teammate. However, he was taken out by the latter and Bron Breakker. The former Bloodline leader has since been absent.

While discussing potential scenarios for Reigns’ return on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts responded to a fan suggesting that Bron Breakker face The OTC in a first-time-ever match at this year’s Biggest Party of the Summer.

I wouldn’t mind Bron Breakker vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. I really wouldn’t. I think that’d be fun. You know, just something to get his feet wet. Just something to get things moving. Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk, Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker. I wouldn’t mind that. [1:09:28 onwards]

Roman Reigns Will Reportedly Return Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

The Original Tribal Chief has been on hiatus for nearly three months, during which he welcomed his sixth child. Meanwhile, recent reports suggested his WWE return is imminent.

According to Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful.com, Roman Reigns is supposed to return ahead of SummerSlam to set up a feud heading into the premium live event.

It would be interesting to see when the former Undisputed WWE Champion would show up.
