Huge Roman Reigns Match Being Considered For WrestleMania 40

Roman Reigns wrestlemania 39

Even though WrestleMania 40 is a long time away, there is already a big Roman Reigns match that’s considered “on the table” for the event.

The main event of WrestleMania 39 saw Roman Reigns defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes.

There are many people that thought Cody would be the guy to put an end to Roman’s 900+ day run as the Universal Champion and one-year-long run as the WWE Champion, but it didn’t happen. Solo Sikoa got involved, he hit Cody with a Samoan Spike just as Cody was about to finish off Reigns and Reigns hit a Spear to win. A lot of fans were frustrated by it, yet the incredible title reign of Roman Reigns continues.

On the Raw after WrestleMania, Cody asked Roman Reigns for a rematch and The Tribal Chief turned that down. So how about next year?

It is being reported by Wrestle Votes via GiveMeSport that WWE is already considering the Reigns-Rhodes rematch for WrestleMania 40 next April in Philadelphia.

“I can say this. The rematch that’s at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Cody vs Roman, is very much on the table to main event in Philadelphia next year.”

A lot can happen in a year as we know because of injuries or other wrestlers getting hot, but it certainly could be an interesting story if Cody Rhodes is able to beat Roman Reigns one year after losing the biggest match of Cody’s life at this year’s WrestleMania.

The WWE Draft is set to take place tonight with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes both set to be drafted this evening in part one of the draft. Reigns is listed along with cousin Solo Sikoa while The Usos, who are also part of The Bloodline group, are listed separately and will be drafted on Raw.
