A former WWE Superstar has named a surprising choice that they’d have take on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania.
For months now rumours have swirled that WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles will play host to one of the biggest dream matches – and family feuds – of all time with The Rock potentially taking on Roman Reigns to find out who really sits at The Head of the Table.
Should The Rock not agree to return to the ring for what would surely be one last match for The People’s Champion, many have also suggested that Cody Rhodes could be in line to take on The Tribal Chief. Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 to great fanfare and defeated Seth Rollins.
The American Nightmare has made no secret that he is back to claim the one title his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes, never captured – the WWE Title.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Tommy Dreamer suggested another name that could feasibly take on Roman Reigns on The Grandest Stage of Them All – current Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER:
“I say the person they have to go to is GUNTHER versus Roman at ‘Mania. Because then I’m like, ‘Who else can do it?’ And I don’t know who else can do it.”
GUNTHER set the record as the longest reigning WWE United Kingdom Champion at 870 days – should Reigns carry his titles into WrestleMania in LA, he will eclipse that total as he recently surpassed 800 days as Universal Champion.
