Roman Reigns has landed a huge new movie role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roman Reigns will be joined by Jason Momoa and 50 Cent, among others, in the cast for Street Fighter. The movie, which will be an adaptation of the legendary video game of the same name, will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, with production to begin in August.

Reigns is set to play Akuma, but the plot is being closely guarded.

The Hollywood Reporter broke down the success of the game, which became one of the most famous video games in history.

Street Fighter began as an arcade game in 1987 and reached a pop culture high with 1991’s Street Fighter II, which revolutionized one-on-one playing. Street Fighter 6, the latest game in the franchise, was released in June 2023 and won the award for best fighting game at the 2023 Game Awards.

Roman Reigns Closing On WWE Return

Back in the world of pro wrestling, it’s been reported that Roman Reigns is finally preparing to return to WWE television. The star has been absent since the night after WrestleMania 41, where he lost to Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match also involving CM Punk.

To make matters worse for Reigns, he was betrayed by Paul Heyman in the process. Heyman has since headed up a new faction on Raw alongside Rollins, which now includes Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

According to the report, there had been discussions around Reigns returning for Night of Champions, but a decision was taken to hold it back.
