Roman Reigns Set For Imminent WWE Return
The WWE fans chanting his name may get their wish because Roman Reigns is set to make his return to television very soon.
Roman Reigns was last seen on WWE television at WrestleMania 40 when he lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes. That victory by Rhodes put an end to Roman’s incredible 1,316-day reign as the WWE Universal Champion.
It has been over three months since Reigns last appeared in front of the WWE fans and now those same fans that booed him for four years are chanting “We Want Roman” every week on SmackDown.
Paul Heyman, who was the special counsel and “Wise Man” for the Tribal Chief Reigns, recently was beaten up by the new edition of The Bloodline led by Solo Sikoa. This came a few weeks after the group also destroyed Jimmy Uso, who is Solo’s brother.
On WWE Smackdown in Worcester, The Bloodline group led by Solo Sikoa destroyed Randy Orton as well. Jacob Fatu was a huge factor in the attack that also included Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa. The Bloodline foursome tied WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the ropes, which meant he couldn’t help his mentor Orton. The beating ended when Fatu and The Bloodline gave Orton a Powerbomb through the commentary table.
Solo Sikoa has also spoken about wanting to win the WWE Title to strengthen The Bloodline since Reigns lost it. That has set up Cody Rhodes to defend the WWE Title against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam on August 3rd.
When Will Roman Reigns Make His Triumphant WWE Return?
As for when Roman Reigns will return to WWE television, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Roman Reigns is expected to return by Summerslam. Johnson added that at one point, the plan was for Reigns to come back about two or three weeks before Summerslam, which is officially three weeks away on Saturday, August 3rd in Cleveland.
There are three episodes of Smackdown before SummerSlam. However, WWE will be taping two episodes on July 19th in Omaha because there will be live events in Japan one week later. The final Smackdown before SummerSlam is August 2nd in Cleveland.
Plans can always change in WWE, but obviously, the story is leading to the return of Roman Reigns and it’s just a matter of when at this point.
