Roman Reigns “Fortunate” To Work With The Rock

The Rock Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has commented on working with The Rock.

After several years’ worth of teases, Roman Reigns finally worked alongside The Rock in a major WWE storyline in the early part of 2024.

Although plans would have initially seen the pair square off at WrestleMania 40, they ended up teaming together on night one to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. While The Great One has largely disappeared from view since the spectacular, he’s expected to eventually get back in the ring.

During an interview with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media podcast, Reigns was asked about the gravity of a potential showdown between himself and The Rock.

“I never really looked at it like that. It was more so that situation where you zoom out and you see all these family members together. When you’re able to do that with someone from your family, with people from your Bloodline, there is just something about that.

Maybe you can ask the Kelce brothers [Jason Kelce & Travis Kelce] or the Harbaughs [Jim Harbaugh & John Harbaugh], it’s this weird, sharing such a huge main event level moment with so many eyes on it, the whole world was watching, especially with the way we have it now. I wasn’t even looking at him like ‘this is DJ [Dwayne Johnson],’ it was just me and another family member. I mean that with the utmost love and respect.

It’s really hard to put into words how that can make a man feel and how proud I am to be able to attempt to articulate this. We’re very fortunate.”

WWE Making Plans Without The Rock

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that WWE is making WrestleMania 41 plans without involvement from The Rock. Things could change at any moment, but as it stands, current creative plans don’t see the Hollywood star involved.

However, it was noted that The Rock will ultimately do whatever he wants, and if that includes a match at WrestleMania, that’s exactly what will happen.

The star has been absent from WWE since making a cryptic cameo at the end of Bad Blood.
