Roman Reigns Explains Going Back On His Word Before WWE Survivor Series
Roman Reigns is not someone known to go back on his word.
But that is exactly what happened on November 17 when he returned to WWE RAW and interjected himself in a brawl that finalized the Survivor Series: WarGames participants.
His return was especially surprising because he promised not to return until Christmas.
The incident occurred at last month’s Crown Jewel, when he lashed out at his cousins for interfering in his match against Bronson Reed.
Unfortunately for the Tribal Chief, the Australian Street Fight match ended in a loss after Jey Uso accidentally speared him through the table.
While Jey and Jimmy Uso appeared apologetic, Roman Reigns was in no mood for forgiveness.
His loss to his archnemesis at the time had all but derailed his progress towards bigger things.
As he spoke to The Usos, the cameras captured him saying:
What did I tell ya? The whole world thinks I can’t do sh*t on my own. I told you I am going to do this. This isn’t like the old times.. It only works when we win.. It only works one way! I love you, I love you, but I don’t want to see you all till Christmas.
Roman Reigns Reminded Of His Promise
Roman Reigns was recently reminded of the promise he made in October by Jackie Redmond during an exclusive interview on the eve of Survivor Series: WarGames.
Both Reigns and Redmond laughed, and this is how their exchange went:
Jackie Redmond: Were we not supposed to see you till Christmas?
Roman Reigns: (laughs) Yeah. Every day is Christmas with the Tribal Chief.
Redmond: Okay, fair enough.
Reigns: Merry Christmas.
Redmond: (laughs) ‘Tis the season, right?
Reigns: That’s true. [0:32 onwards]
Reigns then explained the reason behind his return, claiming that now felt better than any other time to make his imminent return.
He also admitted to feeling that he never left and was always fully locked in with the happenings in WWE.
