Roman Reigns Breaks Silence On Death Of WWE Hall Of Fame Uncle
Roman Reigns has issued a public comment following the death of his WWE Hall of Famer uncle Afa Anoa’i.
WWE Hall of Famer and Wild Samoan Afa Anoa’i passed away at the age of 81. Afa’s son Samu Anoa’i posted this message on Facebook on Friday afternoon:
It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of my father Afa Anoai Sr. It was a peaceful transition and he was surrounded by loved ones. Please respect our privacy as we mourn our father.
Roman Reigns Pays Tribute To Afa Anoa’i
The death of Afa comes two months after his brother, Sika Anoa’i, passed away in June 2024. Sika was also the father to Roman Reigns and now the OTC has shared his thoughts on his uncle’s passing on social media, noting he took comfort in the fact that the Wild Samoans were together again:
Our family has suffered another great loss with the passing of my uncle and WWE Hall of Famer, Gataivasā Afa Amituana’i Anoa’i. We thank everyone for their support and are comforted by the fact that he now rests in peace. Afa and my father, Pola’ivao Leati Sika Anoa’I were loving brothers, the greatest tag team of their generation, and now they’re reunited together in heaven. Rest in Power Wild Samoans.

The dangerous brother duo of Afa & Sika started their wrestling careers in 1973 in Stampede Wrestling with Stu Hart. They would go on to compete all over the world and win multiple Tag Team Titles together in NWA territories as well as other places. As the Wild Samoans in the WWE, they would go on to win the Tag Team Titles on three different occasions.
The Wild Samoans were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
