Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes Staying Put In WWE
After they were advertised for Raw’s debut on Netflix, the future of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes in WWE has apparently been revealed.
Raw is heading to Netflix as part of a multi-billion dollar deal and will debut on the streaming giant on January 6th, 2025.
The show is sure to be a massive one as it looks to start with a bang on the streaming giant and John Cena has already confirmed that he’ll be in attendance at the show. But he won’t be the only major star in attendance. WWE has confirmed that rap star Travis Scott will be in attendance but several stars now synonymous with SmackDown have been advertised to be there.
WWE revealed the location for the first Raw on Netflix accompanied by four graphics featuring Cena as well as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair.
Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns Staying On WWE SmackDown
That had led many to question whether or not this was going to be a permanent move for SmackDown’s top stars but apparently that’s not the case.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has followed up by noting that Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will still be firmly part of the SmackDown roster and their inclusion on the show is part of WWE’s strategy to make it as important as possible:
No, Roman and Cody are not leaving SmackDown to go to Raw. It is just that it’s all guns blazing and they’re going to do every single thing they can to make that Netflix debut in Los Angeles as important as possible on January 6th. It’s that simple.
Bianca Belair was SmackDown’s number one pick in the 2024 Draft while Cody Rhodes was ineligible for selection after winning his title at WrestleMania 40. Roman Reigns pulled out of that draft during his hiatus from the company with The Bloodline only being represented by Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Paul Heyman.
