Roman Reigns Won’t Need To Change To Become Top WWE Babyface

Roman Reigns scowling at the camera

Roman Reigns is closing on a WWE return.

After assuming control of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa recruited Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu while kicking Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman to the curb.

Fans have long suspected that the storyline was set up to create a dramatic return for Roman Reigns, and in recent weeks Sikoa has taken direct shots at the former World Champion for the first time.

Interestingly, it’s been reported Roman Reigns’ comeback is imminent, with the star expected back on television before SummerSlam on August 3rd. At the summer spectacular, Solo Sikoa is due to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title.

Veteran Sees No Reason For Roman Reigns To Change

When Reigns does explode back onto television he’ll do so not as the villainous heel he was when he left, but as a returning hero.

Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy said that despite the dynamic shift, Reigns doesn’t need to change his character.

“He’s just gotta do the same shtick he was doing before with The Bloodline, except he’s gonna be positioned in the role of the hero. I don’t even think he changes a whole lot. I just think you act the same way. You do the same deal. You get back the original crew. You put The Usos back together in there,”

Matt Hardy went on to break down why WWE’s most important task is now to make the ‘new Bloodline’ as big and dominant as possible.

And now they just need to make sure to build up this new Bloodline and make them seem like they are gonna be a threat because Roman is a very high bar. So they need to put as much steam as possible on this new version of The Bloodline,” Hardy stated. “This thing with taking out Paul Heyman was epic. And it felt big. It felt special. It felt important.”

Roman Reigns hasn’t been seen on WWE television since being defeated by Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
