Roman Reigns’ Career Will Allegedly Nosedive In AEW
Roman Reigns will take a major blow if he moves to AEW, according to a wrestling veteran.
Several former top WWE stars have signed with Tony Khan’s promotion in recent years, including Mercedes Mone (FKA Sasha Banks), Bobby Lashley, and Jon Moxley.
During a recent episode of his Drive Thru podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette predicted what would happen to The Original Tribal Chief if he hypothetically jumped ship.
The 63-year-old claimed Reigns’ potential arrival at AEW would only cause a “short-term curiosity difference.” He added that while fans would initially be interested in seeing the former Undisputed WWE Champion, he would then get lost in the shuffle.
I don’t see how with the structure with everything that we know about AEW that they can sign any, of course, they’re not gonna sign Roman Reigns, can’t possibly.
But I don’t see who they could bring in that at this point would make anything but a short-term curiosity difference, because then they’ll end up immaterial like everybody else they bring in.
So, yeah, Roman Reigns as, you know, somebody else, whatever name, Roman Snow, I don’t know, he initially people would go, ‘Oh, sh*t, what the f**k’s going on here.’ But then he’d get lost in the shuffle and there’d be nothing interesting for him to do. [3:10 onwards]
Roman Reigns Will Reportedly Return For WWE SummerSlam
The Original Tribal Chief has been absent since April after getting taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on the RAW after WrestleMania 41.
Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful.com recently provided an update on Roman Reigns’ status, disclosing that he is expected to return ahead of SummerSlam to set up a storyline heading into The Biggest Party of the Summer.
