Sam Roberts Suggests Potential WarGames Lineup Featuring Roman Reigns and CM Punk as Allies
On the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts floated the idea that Roman Reigns may be heading toward a babyface turn, one that could see him align with CM Punk to face a common enemy, i.e., Seth Rollins and his faction.
According to Roberts, the long-term plan could involve a babyface superteam going up against a dangerous heel unit in a future WarGames match, possibly set for Survivor Series later this year.
“I think what you end up having is a babyface team, and you end up with another WarGames where Roman and Punk are on the same team versus a heel super team,” Roberts said. “Assuming Seth Rollins is back, you have that Seth Rollins faction and then maybe you add to it. Maybe you do add Solo Sikoa, maybe you add Gunther… whatever combination. We’ll see where we’re at in November.” (6:58 – 7:26)
Roberts even speculated on the full babyface lineup: “Roman, Jey, Punk, Sami, and maybe Penta. Maybe that’s your babyface team.” He also teased the possibility of Jacob Fatu joining Roman’s side to add unpredictability to the mix.
