The Surprising Role Paul Heyman Played In Roman Reigns Documentary

Roman Reigns Paul Heyman WWE

Paul Heyman might be Roman Reigns’ on-screen Wiseman in WWE but it seems off-camera Heyman is so much more.

Paul Heyman first got his claws into Roman Reigns when Reigns returned from a short hiatus in WWE to quickly claim the Universal Title. The new partnership between the men who had previously been at odds for years due to Heyman’s association with Brock Lesnar shocked fans but proved fruitful for both men.

Heyman’s influence in Reigns winning that title he has now held for over 1,300 days was obvious from the start. Reigns won the title in a triple threat match also involving the late Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman but Roman Reigns let the two behemoths take each other out before making his entrance. Only then did he sign the contract to be a part of the bout before quickly winning the title.

Paul Heyman Directs Roman Reigns Documentary

Roman Reigns is the subject of a new Biography documentary on the A&E network and WWE has promoted the fact that the show has been executive produced and directed by none other than the special counsel to The Tribal Chief, Paul Heyman. Roman Reigns had his say on why Heyman was the perfect man for the job:

I wanted the most authentic documentary in the history of #WWEonAE. The Wiseman was the only one who could do this story the justice it deserves. There’s so much about me that I’ve never discussed in public before. This is the true story of Joe Anoa’i and Roman Reigns!

Roman Reigns will defend his WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40 but he might not have Paul Heyman in his corner for that match. On night one of WrestleMania 40, Reigns will team with The Rock to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins and if The Bloodline loses that bout then the entire group will be banned from ringside for Reigns title match with Rhodes.
