ROH Talent Signs Multi-Year Deal With AEW

After receiving praise for a recent appearance, it would seem an ROH talent will be under the AEW banner for the foreseeable future.

On the 15th July 2023 edition of AEW Collision, Ian Riccaboni was at ringside calling the action with Excalibur, covering the seat usually held by Kevin Kelly. Riccaboni had previously been commentating on Ring Of Honor shows, a task which he’d been able to do remotely. He was one of the original talents to move across to the company when it was purchased by Tony Khan.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Ian Riccaboni has now signed a multi-year deal with AEW. The report goes on to say that Riccaboni received high praise backstage for his commentary on Collision, and had actually been offered the role on the show on a full-time basis from the start, however cited family reasons for turning the position down. At that point, he recommended Kevin Kelly to take the seat.

Although Riccaboni won’t be a regular fixture on Collision, he is set to cover the show on a few occasions over the summer, covering when Kevin Kelly and Excalibur aren’t available. He will also continue his duties on ROH programming.

Ring Of Honor’s next featured event takes place this weekend, as Death Before Dishonor will see Claudio Castagnoli defend his ROH World Championship against a yet-unnamed opponent, Samoa Joe put his Television Title on the line against Dalton Castle, and Katsuyori Shibata go up against Daniel Garcia with the Pure Championship on the line.
