Chris Bey is no longer paralyzed.

During the October 27th TNA TV tapings, Chris Bey suffered a serious neck injury during a match with The Hardys while teaming with Ace Austin.

Bey was quickly taken out of the ring on a stretcher and underwent surgery that night, but details about his condition were being kept private. In a statement issued via TNA Wrestling, Bey said that while his journey will be long and challenging he was thankful for all the support he’d received.

Chris Bey Recovering Well

Speaking on his 1 of a Kind podcast, Rob Van Dan revealed he and his wife Katie Forbes had been to visit Bey as they live nearby. The WWE Hall of Hall of Famer said that after spending two months in the hospital, Bey is now recovering at home with his girlfriend.

“Chris Bey happens to live very close to us. Katie and I went and visited him because he made it home. He was stuck in the hospital for like two months. He had a match, if you don’t know, with the Hardy Boyz. I know very little about it, but they were going for a move that didn’t work out safely, and Chris broke his neck and then he was paralyzed.”

Van Dam added that Bey is no longer paralyzed and is determined to make a full comeback, although he faces a long road back to full fitness.

“I don’t know how much we should talk about, really, but let me just say that he’s going to wait until he’s ready to talk. Of course, I invited him on here. He is much better than I imagined and much better than he was when he was paralyzed. So, he’s not (paralyzed) anymore, and he’s getting everything back.

He’s going to make a come back too, a full comeback, I’m sure of it but it’s going to be a long journey, and we’ll probably check in with him a lot because, like I said, he lives really close.”

A GoFundMe page was launched following the accident, with wrestling stars such as Karrion Kross, Cody Rhodes, Nic Nemeth, Joe Hendry, Will Ospreay, QT Marshall, Jinder Mahal, Jordynne Grace, Jonathan Gresham, Danhausen, and Aaron Solo all donating to help out the TNA star.

To date, the campaign has raised almost $107,000.
