Rob Van Dam Names His 3 Favourite ECW Stars Of All Time

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam opened up about his favourite opponents from his days in ECW, where he established himself as one of wrestling’s most dynamic performers.

Speaking on his podcast, 1 Of a Kind, Rob Van Dam revealed his top picks for the best “big man” and “little man” wrestlers he faced during his ECW career. Joining ECW in 1996, Van Dam quickly rose to prominence with his high-flying style and versatility, capturing the ECW World Television Championship and ECW World Tag Team Championship twice. Throughout his tenure, he wrestled a wide range of opponents, but a few left a lasting impression.

When asked to name his favourite “big man” opponent, Van Dam didn’t hesitate to highlight the legendary Bam Bam Bigelow.

“I’m going to probably go with Bam Bam Bigelow for the bigger guy. I had some really good matches with him, and also he has a special place because I grew up watching him. And then to meet him, I thought he was really cool, and I respected the guy. So, I liked him the best for my bigger ECW big guy.”

Choosing his favourite “smaller guy” opponent proved more challenging, with Van Dam admitting it was a tough decision.

“Smaller guy? That’s a toss-up between two people. It’s hard to make a decision between Little Guido and Spike Dudley.”

Which Modern Wrestling Trope Does Rob Van Dam Think Is Stupid?

Rob Van Dam spoke about how he thinks the modern wrestling trope of wrestlers performing other wrestlers’ moves is stupid because he sees wrestlers attempting moves they aren’t skilled at performing online and that wrestlers should stick to moves that they know how to execute properly.
