Rob Van Dam Explains The Differences Between Working For WWE Vs TNA

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam opened up about his decision to transition from WWE to TNA, offering a glimpse into the factors that influenced his move.

During an episode of his podcast, “1 Of A Kind With RVD,” Rob Van Dam reflected on his departure from WWE in 2007, highlighting how the lighter schedule in TNA played a pivotal role in his choice. Recalling the intense workload he faced in WWE, Van Dam said:

I guess we did roughly 20 to 25 matches a month probably in WWE.

This demanding schedule was a stark contrast to what he experienced after joining TNA in 2010. Van Dam explained the difference in match frequency between the two promotions:

So basically in three months in WWE, I would have had about the same amount of matches as I would have had in 12 months in TNA after I left WWE in 2007 and then turned up in TNA in 2010.

In addition to the reduced workload, financial considerations also played a crucial part in Van Dam’s decision. He revealed that the money he earned in TNA was “very comparable on the annual,” making the transition even more appealing given the significant reduction in work. “It was much less work for the same money,” he noted.

Van Dam’s outlook on life and his career transition is captured in his final reflection.

So, just like I always say, life just keeps getting better and better and better, and it’s all a perspective of how you look at the narration that you tell yourself.
