Rob Van Dam Really Bummed After WWE Plans Changed

Rob Van Dam WWE

Rob Van Dam recently made a splash with his return to WWE for a special show but it seems there could have been so much more on offer.

NXT recently debuted in the famed ECW Arena in Philadelphia with a show that borrowed many aspects and talents from the land of extreme. Bubba Ray Dudley teamed with Trick Williams to face Ridge Holland and Ethan Page while the FBI’s Nunzio unsuccessfully challenged Tony D’Angelo for the NXT North American Championship.

One star also advertised to be part of the show was former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam. RVD ended up getting involved in the bout between Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee after Lee had attacked him backstage.

Speaking on 1 Of A Kind, Rob Van Dam discussed his experience of appearing at the special NXT show and said he’s got unfinished business that needs to be settled:

It felt really welcome, and everybody from top to bottom was super cool. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome if and when I want to come back. I got some unsettled business now with Wes [Lee]. They all seem really legit. It’s really cool. Everybody’s happy.

They all grew up watching my generation of wrestlers, so they’re really stoked to have us there, working with them. They value our perspective. It’s really cool.

WWE Plans Changed For Rob Van Dam

One fan noted that they had hoped to see RVD in a more active role on the show and he admitted that plans had been changed for the good of his well-being but warned that he would be back in the ring:

More time is needed to get more information. But basically, I think that you would not be wrong if you thought that maybe there was some plans that got changed, and if so, that it was done for the betterment of me and for my well-being. Let me just leave it there for now.

I will definitely talk more about this when I have more to talk about. Little early right now though. I wanted to wrestle too. I was really bummed. I will be back, too. I will be back, so there’s that.

Rob Van Dam’s last match in WWE came in 2014 when he clashed with Seth Rollins on SmackDown as Rollins picked up the win.
