Rikishi Not Happy After Jimmy Uso Social Media Backlash

Jimmy Uso entrance on WWE SmackDown

Rikishi has defended his comments on Jimmy Uso.

Roman Reigns picked up a huge win over Solo Sikoa at WWE Bad Blood but he had to count on help. First Reigns was forced to accept Cody Rhodes as a very unlikely tag team partner as they battled Sikoa and Jacob Fatu but The Bloodline still had the numbers advantage.

During the match, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa tried to get involved, but Jimmy Uso returned to a monster ovation to lend a hand. On the following episode of SmackDown, Jimmy told Reigns that the pair needed help, but he wasn’t overjoyed about a reunion with Jey Uso.

Jimmy had been off WWE television since being beaten down by the new Bloodline on the SmackDown after WrestleMania.

Rikishi Dismisses Response To Jimmy Uso Comments

Back in September, Rikishi sparked concern by asking fans to pray for Jimmy Uso who was out of action at the time. Although WWE sources later confirmed Jimmy was fine, that didn’t stop many fans from being somewhat worried and confused.

Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi defended his comments, laughing off the idea that people would read anything into them.

“God forbid I even say anything on social media,” Rikishi said. “Everybody thought that Jimmy was in the hospital. All I said was just ‘Send a prayer for my son.’ That’s it, as any father would give any son… I got so much [flak] for just [being] a father trying to send some prayers for his boy and then boom!”

Reflecting on Jimmy’s return, the Hall of Famer said he was happy to hear the reaction he received from fans.

“I’ve seen the highlights…all I was really listening to was the fans,” Rikishi said. “That damn building erupted. It just erupted. So that type of feeling and that type of sound, let’s go back three years ago, it’s almost when Solo Sikoa came in for Roman. Then here it is. So I’m watching this, and as a proud father, come on. I’m always gonna talk about my kids out there on social media. So yeah, it was a big night.”

On the October 14th episode of Raw, Jimmy pleaded with his brother Jey, but the Intercontinental Champion wasn’t interested in a reunion.

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Jey will put his title on the line in a huge rematch against Bron Breakker on October 21st.
