Ricochet Faces One-Legged Ex-WWE Star At Beach Break

AEW star Ricochet will face a unique challenge at Beach Break on May 14 as he takes on a former WWE star who shared the ring with Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon.

A special Thursday night Collision saw Ricochet in action against Angelico, with the famously bald star picking up the win. A former WWE star was watching on, however, and it’s perhaps not one anyone ever expected to see in an AEW ring.

Before the show, former WWE star Zach Gowen was introduced to the crowd in his home state of Michigan and he was watching on keenly from ringside as Ricochet picked up his victory.

After the match, Ricochet began taunting security and even started to cut one of the guards’ hair. Gowen jumped the barricade to make the save, but Ricochet hit him with the Spirit Gun and stole his prosthetic leg leaving Gowen lying in the ring.

Later in the show, it was revealed that Ricochet vs. Zach Gowen would now take place at Beach Break on May 14.

Who Is Ricochet’s Next Opponent?

Zach Gowen is famously a one-legged wrestler who competed in WWE for four months in 2003. He was instantly part of a high-profile storyline between Stephanie and Vince McMahon. Gowen was forced to team with Stephanie to take on The Big Show for him to win a contract with the company, something the duo improbably did.

At Vengeance 2003, Vince McMahon defeated Zach Gowen in a one-on-one match. Gowen also shared the ring with John Cena early in Cena’s career, and he holds a victory over Brock Lesnar albeit by disqualification. Since his short stint in WWE, Gowen has remained an active presence on the independent scene.
