Ricky Saints Wants To Face Main Roster Star In NXT

Ricky Saints NXT Champion

Ricky Saints is already looking beyond NXT.

At No Mercy, Ricky Saints brought the dominant NXT Championship reign of Oba Femi to a shocking end.

The victory marked the biggest win of Saints’ WWE career to date. The star signed with the sports entertainment giant in February, after being frozen out of AEW.

During a new interview on Busted Open Radio Saints opened up about his WWE run to date and his dreams for the future. Dreams that seemingly include a “dream match” with Undisputed WWE Champion and long-time friend Cody Rhodes.

Ricky Saints Ready To Face The Very Best

Before a potential match with Rhodes comes to pass, Saints is ready to look outside of NXT for new challengers. When asked what might be next for him, Saints said that he’d love for someone from the main roster to come down to NXT to see how he compares.

“The next step would be, let’s mix it up. Let’s take somebody from the main roster, bring them down here, and see how an NXT Champion compares to one of those guys.

Even then, the talent pool at NXT is so deep. Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne, so many people are on the way up. I have no problem showing the different styles or the contrast between me and these people, especially when it comes to experience. I have no problem showing that off.

Those are areas that I’m interested in because it mixes it up, it’s a little bit different, but it also gives you a glimpse into the future of what we have at NXT. On top of that, it can show you the NXT Champion can hang with anyone.”

Despite retaining the NXT Championship with a win over Trick Williams at Halloween Havoc, his rivalry with Saints is set to continue. On the October 28 edition of NXT, Williams and Saints got into another wild brawl, setting up a rematch.

Once the pair were pulled apart, Ava announced that they would meet in a Last Man Standing Match on November 11.
