Ricky Saints First WWE Title Win Ends In Surprise Attack
Ricky Saints has claimed his first championship in WWE but his celebrations were cut short by a shock attack.
The former Ricky Starks hadn’t been seen in Tony Khan’s company since March 2024 and it seemed that he was destined to join WWE when his contract expired. That journey was hastened when AEW released several stars and a few days later, the man now known as Ricky Saints made his WWE debut on NXT.
Saints claimed AEW veterans interfered in his creative but is looking to make his name in his new wrestling home and it seems he’s now done just that.
After a few run-ins with his former AEW colleague Shawn Spears, a match was made between the two men for the April 1 edition of NXT with Spears’ NXT North American Championship on the line.

Saints survived interference from The Culling to drop Spears with his roshambo to pick up the win and his first championship in WWE in just his third match since joining the company.

However, Ricky Saints’ celebration was cut incredibly short as another ex-AEW star reared his head. Ethan Page lived up to his “all ego” nickname as he stole the spotlight by attacking Saints and standing tall with the NXT North American Title belt as the show went off the air.
