Ricky Saints Caps Off WWE NXT’s Final Episode of the Year

Ricky Saints had an extremely successful debut year in NXT after he joined the brand following his exit from AEW in February of this year. He debuted on the black and silver brand the same month and hasn’t looked back since joining WWE.

Just a few weeks after his debut, he won the North American Championship and held it for 56 days. He would follow that up with a 70-day reign with the NXT Championship as well, before dropping the belt to the man he defeated for the title, Oba Femi.

Losing the NXT title seemed to have changed something in Saints as he turned heel on the first NXT after Deadline, as he cost Je’Von Evans his shot at becoming the NXT Champion.

Ricky Saints ends WWE NXT with a win

Evans cashed in his opportunity at the NXT Championship on the episode after Deadline, to which Oba agreed. He almost defeated the Ruler in their match, but Saints turned heel during the match and pulled the referee out of the ring before he could count to three.

Since then, Evans had been at Ricky’s throat, and Ava announced a match between the two for tonight after Saints put Evans through a table two weeks back.

The two former friends wrestled an incredibly hard-hitting and fast-paced match where Saints would eventually emerge victorious, much to the dismay of the fans. The match came to an end after Evans accidentally hit the WWE official with the OG Cutter.

Saints used that to his advantage as he kicked Evans between the legs and followed that up with a Roshambo to the Young OG. A new official entered the ring as Saints hit his finisher on Je’Vons, and he counted to three to declare Ricky Saints the winner.
