Ricky Saints Burned Every Bridge In AEW

Ricky Saints’ long drawn-out exit from AEW has been referenced on WWE television as he secures his first title shot in his new home.

The former Ricky Starks hadn’t been seen in Tony Khan’s company since March 2024 and it seemed that he was destined to join WWE when his contract expired. That journey was hastened when AEW released several stars and a few days later, the man now known as Ricky Saints made his WWE debut on NXT.

Saints is looking to make his name in his new wrestling home but has claimed AEW veterans interfered in his creative while also admitting that CM Punk’s demise in Tony Khan’s company affected his standing in the company. And this acrimonious ending to his AEW career has now been mentioned on AEW TV.

Ricky Saints Gets NXT Title Shot

Ricky Saints will get his first WWE title show when he clashes with another former AEW star in Shawn Spears for the NXT North American Championship. That match will take place on the April 1 edition of NXT television.

Spears and Saints had a sit down with each other on the March 25 edition of NXT where Spears brought up Saints’ AEW exit. Spears told Saints:

In case it doesn’t work out here, you know you could always go back…Nevermind, we both know you burnt every bridge, don’t we?
