Ric Flair Reacts To Awkward WWE Promo Involving Charlotte & Tiffany Stratton
Ric Flair has given his thoughts on the bizarre promo exchange between Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair on WWE SmackDown.
Tiffany Stratton will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. To promote the match, a “Face to Face” segment took place in the ring involving the champion and challenger.
That segment ended up being one of the most talked about segments of the year for all the wrong reasons. That’s because it went off the rails when Flair mocked Stratton’s squeaky voice, so Stratton said that Flair would be all alone, like in her personal life. Stratton also said Flair was 0-3 about Flair being divorced three times.
After Stratton left the ring, Flair fired back with: “Hey Tiffany, is that why Kaiser is in my DMs?” Kaiser is WWE superstar Ludwig Kaiser, who has been dating Stratton for a few years. It has been reported that WWE wasn’t happy about it, which is understandable since both women went off script.
Ric Flair is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and the legendary father of Charlotte Flair, who is a 14-time Women’s Champion in WWE and a future Hall of Famer. While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Ric Flair gave some of his opinions on what happened between Tiffany and his daughter Charlotte.
“I have an opinion, but I don’t really want to voice it. I can say this, it’s very sensitive. I didn’t like it, but wrestling is wrestling.
I hate when they use me, but Charlotte said it right, you think that’s the first time hearing my name?”
Like the proud father that he is, Ric Flair praised Charlotte for the performer that she is.
“I want to clarify this. She is ten times the athlete that I am. So much better of a worker than I ever was. I can’t do half the things that she does. It’s not like she’s 5’2” and 103 pounds. She’s 5’11 and weighs 145 pounds. She works so hard. Undertaker said it best, ‘The Queen came back and regained her crown.’ She deserves it. She’ll be the best worker in the business, female, until the day she decides to retire.”
Ric Flair Claims Family Life Wasn’t Brought Up During His Legendary Feuds
When he was asked if some of his famous opponents, like Dusty Rhodes or Terry Funk, brought up a person’s divorce history or family life, Ric Flair dismissed that idea. Flair has been married and divorced four times in his life.
“It never happened. I’m 0-4. There is a reason I’m 0-4. When you’re gone six months at a time, people say, ‘Why did you get married when you’re gone?'”
The discussion continued with Ric admitting he didn’t know what was brought up beforehand in terms of what could be used in a promo.
“I don’t know the answer to that. I would assume there was no discussion of that before, but I don’t have any idea. I’m not privy to know that. I would imagine they probably didn’t discuss it.”
After co-host Bully Ray asked Flair if there was a positive thing to take away from the Charlotte-Tiffany promo exchange, Ric did come up with something.
“Well, they’re talking about it. They are certainly talking about it now, at the expense of Ashley’s personal feelings. Wrestling is a strange animal.”
WrestleMania 41 takes place on April 19 & 20 in Las Vegas, so there will be two more SmackDown episodes where Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair could interact again to further their rivalry.
