Ric Flair has admitted that his opinion of a big name in WWE has changed because of how much he has enjoyed that person’s work recently.

When it comes to the WWE group known as The Bloodline, they are bad guys on screen, but they are also beloved by a lot of people because of how entertaining they are. Whether Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman are in the ring defending their titles or in the ring doing promos, they are getting a lot of attention. Even the backstage segments they are a part of draw a lot of attention just because of the star power of the group.

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was backstage at the December 30th edition of Smackdown in Tampa because he wanted to see his good friends like John Cena, Roman Reigns and others. It was Cena’s first WWE match of the year. Flair lives in Tampa, so it was a no-brainer for him to go there.

On a recent episode of his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair spoke about his experience backstage at the show.

“[It was] The first show I’ve been on since that bullsh*t with the airplane. But you know what I did? I just walked in, Kevin Dunn said “come on.” And of course I cleared it with Hunter, and Hunter couldn’t have been nicer. Like, I just, you know, it’s like, anything that was ever, anything I was ever cross about with them or them with me, it’s like it didn’t exist that day. It was perfect. I took Chad and his son and we met Roman and Roman was great. John was great.”

As Ric Flair continued, he talked about how he wasn’t always a fan of the character that Sami Zayn was portraying in the past, but admitted that Zayn is so good now.

“I looked at Sami Zayn, they were all in the same dressing room. And I said brother, you got heat with me. He goes why, what did I do? [I replied] I’m just kidding, I meant your character. His character still gets heat with me, the one that gets the marks. You know, it’s funny. I couldn’t stand the character. Well now I do, I appreciate it and watch it more.”

“He does add a lot to it. I didn’t like him, I think I said, I think he even tweeted it. But he’s so good, he’s added a lot of entertainment value to it.”

In another story from Ric’s backstage appearance at Smackdown, he apparently didn’t know his daughter Charlotte Flair was coming back to WWE that night and left the building before she won the Smackdown Women’s Title to become a 14-time Women’s Champion. Oops.
