Ric Flair Believes Randy Orton “Will Be Back Better Than Ever”
Ric Flair has provided a bit of a health update on Randy Orton, who will hopefully return from back surgery better than ever.
There was some unfortunate news recently reported about Randy Orton undergoing major back surgery. According to that report, Orton is likely not headed back to WWE any time soon. The surgery that Orton had was to fix a fusion in his lower back that is expected to keep the master of the RKO out of action for an “extended period of time.” The surgery was already done, but we don’t know when it took place.
It is currently unknown when or if the 42-year-old Orton will be able to wrestle again. During his WWE career, Orton is a 14-time WWE World Champion that was also a Raw Tag Team Champion earlier year as part of the RK-Bro team with Matt Riddle.
One person that believes Orton will be back is Ric Flair, who has a long history with Orton going back to working with Randy’s father Bob Orton Jr. earlier in their careers. Flair and Orton were also part of the very successful stable in 2003-04, which saw Flair be a mentor towards Orton, as well as Batista.
In the years that followed, Randy and Ric were allies, they were rivals and Randy even turned on Ric two years ago in the pandemic era of WWE.
During a recent episode of his “To Be The Man” podcast, Ric Flair spoke optimistically about Orton returning to the WWE ring some day while also talking about his daughter Charlotte Flair as well.
“I talk to him all the time. Yeah, I asked him and talked about his surgery because I didn’t think he wanted me to share. But yeah, he’ll be back better than ever. There’s a look of a great wrestler, look at him, he just looks good. I mean, he carries himself very [well] I think him and Roman would be huge. I take him and Cody would be huge. There’s some really big matches, like when the queen (Charlotte Flair) comes back. I mean God, I’m pushing for, I would like it to be Bianca Belair but I mean, there’s some great matches for her too when she comes back.”
