Ric Flair Has “No Problem” With WWE Star Breaking Record

Ric Flair

Ric Flair has given his thoughts on his World Title record being broken.

For several years, Ric Flair has been open about his dream to see his daughter Charlotte break his World Title record and become a 17-time World Champion. According to historians, Flair was likely World Champion on at least 21 occasions, but WWE cites the record at 16.

However, after John Cena announced his retirement at Money In The Bank, many have suggested he should win the World Title one more time — a feat that would take him past Flair.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Flair spoke of his admiration of Cena, admitting he wouldn’t have a problem if he won that elusive 17th World Championship.

“You want the honest to God truth? I think so much personally of John Cena. He’s just one of those really great guys, in my opinion. And I’ve known a few,” Flair said. “In a perfect world, it would be my daughter, which I think would be the biggest thing that could ever happen.

I told her one time, and she got upset — not upset but she didn’t like the comparison, I said, ‘You’d be as famous as Serena Williams if you broke that record that’s been there for so long.’ She didn’t like the comparison, but she’s as good an athlete as there is alive today.

But if they do it with John, I have no problem. I’d be the first one to hit the ring and shake his hand.”

Ric Flair No Longer With AEW

On November 2nd, 2023 it was announced that Ric Flair had signed a huge multi-year contract with AEW. The new deal saw Flair’s Wooooo! Energy brand become the official energy drink of AEW.

Despite Flair’s agreement with AEW said to be for multiple years, some fans have questioned whether it might have been brought to an early end as the Wooooo! Energy branding had disappeared from AEW TV.

It’s now been reported that Ric Flair is done with AEW after the sponsorship deal “fell through.”
