Ric Flair Describes How He’s “Upset” AEW Star

Ric Flair

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has elaborated on how he has upset an AEW star but is adamant that there is no falling out, at least on his part.

Ric Flair is set to take part in his last ever wrestling match in July, capping off an illustrious career that stretches all the way back to the seventies. The bout will happen as part of the Starrcast convention which is taking place in Nashville, Tennessee over the same weekend as SummerSlam.

In the run-up to what is sure to be a headline-grabbing bout one way or another, clips have emerged of Ric Flair training in the ring with current AEW star Jay Lethal. Lethal was due to be a guest on Flair’s podcast but didn’t show up.

This led to Flair’s co-host Conrad Thompson enquiring on the To Be The Man podcast about what happened which led The Nature Boy to reveal that there may be some hurt feelings between the pair:

“Is he gonna hear this If I say it? I don’t care. He’s got an attitude. He wants to be part of [Flair’s last match] show. And I said ain’t gonna happen. You know, that happens all of a sudden everybody’s feelings are hurt. You know, this is what we talked about what we discussed we discussed, some people’s feelings are gonna be hurt.”

“[Conrad says he thinks the world of Jay] I do too. I’m not saying anything bad. It just, I don’t have the authority or even though I am the co-owner I guess, co-owner of this venture. I don’t have the authority to put him on the card…”

“So I think he’s upset about that, but he’ll get over it. I don’t, there’s not been a falling out. I just, you know, somebody I just told him like it is. I don’t have the ability. I don’t, I suppose I have the influence to make something happen, but from what I understand he doesn’t fit on the card. I’m Sorry. It’s not a falling out on my part, I promise.”

Ric Flair’s final match has recently switched venues after initially selling out in less than 24 hours, moving to a much bigger arena.
