Ric Flair Recalls What Final Conversations With Hulk Hogan Were Like

Ric Flair Hulk Hogan Fists

Ric Flair had some advice for Hulk Hogan in some of their final discussions together.

Hulk Hogan died on Thursday, July 24th, due to cardiac arrest, at the age of 71 years old.

Upon hearing the news of Hogan’s death, his good friend and former on-screen wrestling rival, Ric Flair, broke down in tears while talking about The Hulkster’s death.

In an interview on the Ariel Helwani Show, Ric Flair spoke about how his final conversations were about business deals.

“Well, I called him, not gonna mention any names, I called him three times and talked to him in the last month because I thought he was getting involved in a situation that would not, is not right for him business-wise, because I knew who he was getting in business with.

For once, he didn’t heed my warning, and then he got hit with that $10 million lawsuit. That’s a lot. But the one thing about Hulk, he’s always been represented and smarter than anybody in the business, and that is not to be denied. He’s been a tremendous businessman.

But this guy that jerked him around this time, ya know, sometimes you just wanna believe so much, and then you try so hard, and he’s such a giving guy, people don’t realize, Hogan was doing Make-A-Wish before Make-A-Wish was Make-A-Wish.”

Did Ric Flair Know That Hulk Hogan Was In Poor Health?

In his final years, Hulk Hogan had multiple surgeries to his back and neck that were a result of a long career in pro wrestling. When Flair was asked if he knew about Hogan having health issues, Flair said no.

“No, not at all, he didn’t mention it at all. The guy brought me a word as to what, Jimmy Hart, and Jimmy and I have been close forever, and I’m sure he’s devastated right now, and I literally talked to Jimmy the day before he passed, and he said Hulk was fine, then the next day we all got the news.”

Over the past week, WWE honored the two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan with tributes on SmackDown, Raw, and NXT. Hulk Hogan’s son Nick was front and center on Raw as the arena chanted for Hogan just like they did during his career as a wrestler.
