Ric Flair Deletes Tasteless Photo Following Social Media Backlash
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair left many people wondering what he was thinking when he shared what was deemed an insensitive photo of himself and former WCW star Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael online.
Following the end of his football career, which saw him win the 1985 Super Bowl with the Chicago Bears, McMichael found himself firmly entrenched in the world of pro wrestling as part of WCW.
McMichael’s stint in the company began on commentary but he soon found himself in the thick of the action, joining The Four Horsemen and competing in the ring. Mongo McMichael’s only title success in WCW came in 1997 when he defeated Jeff Jarrett for the WCW United States Championship.
Sadly, the star’s health has suffered in recent years with the former Chicago Bear battling ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Now very ill, McMichael was visited recently by his old Horsemen partner Ric Flair but The Nature Boy was slammed for sharing a picture of them online with Flair smiling widely while a bedridden McMichael can be seen in bed next to him. The photo is shown at the bottom of this article for those who wish to see exactly why there was such a backlash.
While Ric Flair’s intention may have been to support his friend, many online bashed Flair for being insensitive in showing McMichael in his current condition. The post has been deleted by Flair but he has not commented on the uproar that was caused because of it.
In case you're wondering what Ric Flair deleted here it is. He really is that full of himself.
Also wish the best for Mongo. ☹️ pic.twitter.com/ztYFdlihCi
