Ric Flair Contemplates What Caused Hulk Hogan’s Death

Ric Flair Hulk Hogan Fists

Ric Flair is sharing what he knew about Hulk Hogan’s death in the days leading up to The Hulkster’s death.

It was announced on Thursday, July 24th, that WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan passed away at 71 years old after suffering cardiac arrest. The news shocked many people who knew Hogan well, as the man known for being “Immortal” had overcome so much in his life and career.

Jimmy Hart was one of Hogan’s best friends who spoke about how he had heard The Hulkster was doing fine just a day before his death.

However, Hogan had undergone neck surgery in May, and he also openly spoke about how he had more than ten back surgeries. Clearly, Hogan paid the physical price for his life as a pro wrestler because of how beat up his body was.

Ric Flair is older than Hogan and has also faced numerous health issues throughout his life. Flair was a close friend of Hogan, with the two men being arguably the biggest wrestling stars of their generation. They didn’t have an epic rivalry in WWE, but they did in WCW and also worked together in TNA. There were also some WWE interactions in later years.

After Hogan’s death, Flair revealed that he was very close to Hogan and that Hulk even helped Ric with a loan when Ric’s son Reid (who has since passed away) needed help.

Ric Flair Thinks Hulk Hogan Got Tired After So Many Health Issues

While speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ric Flair echoed what Jimmy Hart said about how he thought Hulk Hogan was fine. As he continued, Flair spoke about Hulk’s health issues.

“I had just talked to Jimmy Hart the day before and I didn’t actually speak with Hulk, but everything was fine. I knew that he had health issues, but I thought that they were being embellished by that radio disk jockey, Bubba. I talked to Jimmy, I talked to his friend and he seemed to be fine.

I think he just got tired. I mean, 11 back operations, hip replacements, now a neck surgery. I mean, how much can your body take? We’ve all put ourselves in a ridiculous position in the business. But here I am, and I’m five years older than Hulk, and I don’t hurt at all. I’ve had some serious health issues, but I don’t have an ache or pain in my body. It bothers me, and of course, it gives me anxiety that I could be next.”

On WWE SmackDown in Cleveland, there was a tribute to Hulk Hogan, including a ten-bell salute and a lenghty video package celebrating his career.
