Ric Flair Congratulates Adam Copeland On AEW Debut

Ric Flair and Adam Copeland

Ric Flair has congratulated Adam Copeland on his move to AEW and praised him as “one of the greatest of all times.”

At WrestleDream on October 1st, Copeland shocked the wrestling world when he made his debut for All Elite Wrestling. At the event, he came to the aid of Sting and Darby Allin, who were being attacked by his old friend and tag team partner, Christian Cage.

After seeing off Christian, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne, the former Edge shook hands with Sting and Allin to close the show.

One man who is happy to see Copeland beginning a new Venture is WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Taking to social media, Flair not only congratulated the star but praised him as one of the greatest of all time.

“Want To Congratulate My Friend @EdgeRatedR On His New Venture In Life!

“You’ll Go Down In History As One Of The Greatest Of All Times. You And Jeff Hardy Have Done Stuff That Will Never Be Duplicated.

The Nature Boy and The Rated-R Superstar clashed several times in the ring in the mid-2000s, including in a vicious TLC match in January 2006. Flair joked that Copeland got him through that bout by “basically wrestling the ladder.”

“You Got Me Through A Ladder Match At 55 Years Of Age! You Basically Wrestled The Ladder Until You Got Me To My Blade, And Then I Found A Level Of Comfort. Nothing But Respect! You Are A Class Act! Always Remember That! WOOOOO!”

Who will Adam Copeland face first in AEW?

AEW has announced that Copeland will make an appearance on the fourth anniversary edition of Dynamite on October 4th, where he will address the audience for the first time since joining the company.

His first match will take place the following week on the Title Tuesday edition of the flagship show on October 10th. There, he will face off with Luchasaurus.
