Ric Flair On CM Punk Returning To WWE – “You’d Have Guys Jumping Off Roofs”

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair thinks there would be a “riot in the locker room” in WWE if CM Punk returned to headline WrestleMania.

The future of CM Punk in the wrestling world remains uncertain following the alleged backstage fight that took place at All Out. The other party involved, The Elite, is set to return to AEW television imminently but Punk – who was also injured in the All Out main event – remains out in the cold.

Reports have circulated since concerning the former AEW World Champion’s future, with suggestions made that he could be in line for a shock return to WWE. Dave Meltzer recently noted that Punk could be the biggest money opponent for Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 39 should Austin return as well.

Ric Flair, however, is not so sure a return to WWE for CM Punk would be best for business. Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Flair reckons Punk’s history of leaving companies on bad terms would have the WWE locker room up in arms if he returned in a prime position:

“The Rock and him? I don’t know, they could look at each other. And be just a question of who’s doing the favour? They’re not gonna wrestle for an hour. John Cena, I like that idea too. But, you know, it’s like we talked about with The Rock. You know, the decision was made sooner than we know about it. Because if Steve’s getting ready to wrestle a real match, real time in LA, it’s gonna be damn good.”

“But I mean, come on, I don’t mean this bad. But CM Punk just can’t act like he acts in one company and go to the other and act like that and come over and expect to be in main events. If he was in a main event at WrestleMania there would be a riot in the locker room. Think about it, he didn’t leave on good terms. He’s not leaving the other place on good terms.”

“And rolling with Steve. I mean, it’s not about his ability. I’m just talking about it. You know, I can’t even I can’t fathom it. I mean, even entertaining, bringing a guy in. That will be putting him ahead of Styles, Orton? I mean, you could have directly either one of those guys, Steve can work. If Steve is working full (matches). He could wrestle Randy. I mean, you know, I mean, you’d have guys jumping off the roof if they brought Punk in there.”
